The Ghori Trust
Matco Foods (pvt.) Limited’s vision is to support community service initiatives in the spheres of education and health in Pakistan. To this end, the company sponsored and formed a charitable trust by the name of Ghori trust in October 2000, registered under the Trust Act, 1882. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has registered Ghori Trust as a Non-Profit Organization through approval U/S 2(36) of the Income Tax Ordinance. Ghori Trust is managed in a transparent and open manner. It is audited by a top audit / assurance firm – Anjum Asim Shahid Rahman (Member of Grant Thornton International). Matco’s near term goals for further strengthening good corporate governance and transparency within Ghori Trust include the completion of Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy’s (PCP) Non-ProfitOrganization Certification Programme.

On 3rd July, 2010, The Ghori Trust gifted a computer IT lab to the MadarsaDarulNaimia. The lab was inaugurated by the chairman of Matco Foods, Jawed Ali Ghori and Mufti Munib Ur Rehman

Rehabilitation Projects
Before the formation of the Ghori Trust, Matco Foods; with the help of its international buyers and employees donated 50 tons of rice to the earthquake victims of Kashmir in 2005. After the severe flooding in 2010 and 2011, the Ghori Trust in collaboration with Matco, donated more than 50 tons of rice to various charitable organizations, NGO’s, and the National Disaster Management Authority. In 2013, Matco arranged food camps, where Falak Basmati rice was distributed to flood affected families in the Punjab regions of Sadhoke, Kamoke, and Mureedke. Matco Foods have been working hand in hand with the Network of Organizations Working for People with Disabilities, Pakistan (NOWPDP) to help individuals with disabilities make the most of their valuable skills. The partnership with Matco also helps generate funds of NOWPDP and also increases awareness about its cause. On the purchase every Falak Brown Basmati Rice jar, a portion of the proceeds from sales is contributed to NOWPDP. Moreover, a brief description of the company and its cause is also present on every jar label.
Matco Foods is a regular contributor to the charitable organization known as the “Robin Hood Army." The Robin Hood Army is a volunteer based organization that works to get surplus food across to less fortunate people.
